Youth Volunteer Program

Los Alamitos Volunteer Program (L.A.V.P.) members can learn teamwork and leadership, participate in job training workshops, be involved in the community, and make new friendships. These skills will help each volunteer develop their portfolio of professional skills and gain valuable training for their future.

L.A.V.P. is also designed to help participants acquire valuable job skills by offering opportunities to get involved in the community year-round. L.A.V.P. members play vital roles in enhancing the City's programs and community-wide special events. Currently, 102 volunteers assist in various programs and events year-round. 

Registration (Membership)

• 2025 - 2026 Memberships are active from May 1, 2025 - May 1, 2026.
• Registration for the 2026 - 2027 Membership Year opens February 9, 2026. Memberships are active from May 1, 2026 - May 1, 2027. 
• 2026 - 2027 Mandatory Membership Meeting: Monday, May 4, 2026, from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. at the Los Alamitos Community Center (10911 Oak St. Los Alamitos)

Fees

Registration is a one-time fee for a year of opportunities each month to volunteer at several different events and community service projects, fees are always subject to change:

• Los Alamitos Residents: $42
• Non-Residents: $47
