Recreation Bucks
The City of Los Alamitos has launched Recreation Bucks – an innovated program designed to support local businesses while giving residents more ways to save. When you shop at participating businesses, you earn rewards that can be redeemed for discounts on select Los Alamitos Recreation & Community Services classes/programs. Recreation Bucks can be applied to both Winter 2025 and Spring 2026 class schedule. For a list of participating business, click the “List of Participating Businesses” link below.

The City will provide a list of participating businesses and will update the list regularly on the City’s website and social media networks. Businesses must provide a line item or detailed receipt for the purchases so they may redeem their discount when registering for a class or program. Credit towards recreation classes and programs will not be eligible for discounts prior to purchasing from the list of approved businesses. Final discretion for program eligibility is determined by the City of Los Alamitos.
The Recreation Bucks Program will run from December 1, 2025, to May 29, 2026. Eligibility for Los Alamitos based businesses to participate in this program shall consist of the following markers:
- Recreation Bucks are not redeemable for the following business categories : cannabis (cannabis-related), gas stations, home-based businesses, and online food delivery services.
- Interested businesses must have a current Los Alamitos business license with no outstanding violations or balance.
- Interested businesses must submit the Acknowledgement Form in order to become a participant in the program. See the link below.
- Participating businesses must display the City-provided vinyl sticker at the entryway of their establishment to easily identify participation in the program.
- Interested businesses must be in good standing with the City (i.e., no outstanding code enforcement cases, no outstanding business license fees, and inactive license status).
