Arbor Day

Did you know the City of Los Alamitos has over 2,000 trees?

In celebration of National Arbor Day, the Public Works Division and City personnel will plant more trees. Expanding the City's Urban Forest will continue to improve our community's quality of life, energy conservation, stormwater attenuation, and improvement to property values.

Please support this cause by participating in this year's Arbor Day events and help take good care of trees throughout the City!

For more information, please contact the Development Services Department at (562) 431-3538 or email Taelor Pohl

Join us for Arbor Day 2025 as we celebrate the beauty of nature and our commitment to sustainability! Enjoy a day of earth-friendly arts and crafts, where you can create eco-conscious projects to take home. We’ll also be adding compost and mulch to help enrich our local environment. Plus, bring the kids for some fun with our talented face painter! It’s a great way to spend time outdoors and contribute to a greener, healthier community. See you there!

This year, we are partnering with UWS to give away FREE compost & Mulch to anyone who wans to load up on garden essentials! Each household (Sorry- Los Alamitos residents only, Please bring your ID), can receive 2 pre-bagged bags on each - compost & mulch. It's first come, first serve so be sure to arrive early!
