Co-ed Youth Volleyball League
Learn the skills and techniques of volleyball, or sharpen your skills, in the Recreation Department Co-ed Youth Volleyball League. Practice will be held once per week, beginning the week of September 18. The first week is dedicated to practice, with the first games scheduled on Friday, September 29, and ending with the Skills Contest on Friday, December 9. Sites with multiple teams will be determined based on talent level. No roster/carpool request(s) will be granted. All games will be on Friday evenings at Oak Middle School Gym. Game schedule will be available on TeamSideline.com the second week of practice.

Class Descriptions
Mini Superstars
Introduce your little superstar to sports! The five-week program will cover the sports of football, basketball, and soccer. Recreation Staff will lead the program but must include parent participation. Get a jump start into teaching your child to live an active lifestyle through sports. Award included in the fee.
Parent & Me Basketball
Introduce your child to fun with the great sport of basketball. Skills include: dribbling, passing, and shooting. Classes are led by Recreation Staff but must include parent participation. Learn the basic skills to build a solid foundation. Award included in the fee.
Parent & Me Soccer
Come out and kick the ball around with the great sport of soccer. Skills include: kicking a soccer ball, teaching the principle of "no hands", and shooting into a goal. Classes are led by Recreation Staff but must include parent(s) participation. Learn basic soccer skills to build upon and progress. Award included in the fee.
Jr. Pee Wee Basketball
Introduce your child to the game of basketball. Classes are designed to teach children the fundamentals of basketball using age appropriate size basketballs and hoops. Kids will learn in small, clinic style groups and play games to reinforce skills learned. Recreation Staff will go over dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and many other aspects of the game. Award and t-shirt are included in the fee.
Jr. Pee Wee Soccer
This five-week soccer program will teach your child the basic, beginning skills of soccer. Taught in a clinic style format, Recreation Staff will emphasize good sportsmanship, teamwork, instill confidence, and fun while teaching the fundamental skills such as shooting, positioning, and dribbling. T-shirt and award are included in the fee.
Jr. Pee Wee T-Ball
This five-week program is designed to teach children the fundamentals of t-ball in a fun and positive environment. Fundamental skills such as catching grounders./pop flies, positions, batting, and base running will be taught by Recreation Staff. T-shirt and award are included in the fee.
Jr. Pee Wee Flag Football
Get a jump start on your football career. Boys and girls will be placed in small groups and learn the rules of the game in a clinic style, fun atmosphere. Future football stars will learn the basic skills of such as throwing, catching, and flag pulling. A Jr. Pee Wee Super bowl will be played on the final day. T-shirt and award are included in the fee.
Jr. Superstars
Come try this multi-sport program and introduce your athlete to a variety of sports. The five-week program will cover the sports of football, basketball, and soccer. Recreation Staff will lead the program with fun warm ups and teach basic fundamentals of each sport. Award included in the fee.
Pee Wee Soccer Camp
This weeklong camp will teach future stars the fundamentals of soccer and allow players to improve their skill level. Practices will be led by Recreation Staff and focus on the basic skills of passing, ball control, shooting, and player movement. Shirt and award are included in the fee.
Pee Wee Baseball Camp
Baseball is in full swing! Come learn the basics and work of becoming the next major leaguer. Recreation Staff will teach the fundamentals of fielding, hitting, and running the bases. Shirt and award are included in the fee.
Youth Coed Basketball League
Learn, play, and have fun in the Los Alamitos Youth Basketball League for kindergarten through 8th grade. This 10-week program will teach players the fundamentals of basketball and allow them to demonstrate their skills on game days. Practices are held once a week at Los Alamitos school district sites and games are played on Saturday at Oak Middle School Gymnasium. The season will conclude with a skills contest and awards ceremony. Sites will multiple teams will be determined based on talent level. No roster/carpool requests will be granted. Jersey and award are included in the fee.
Youth Song Team
In conjunction with the basketball league, cheerleaders in kindergarten through 8th grade will learn basic song team cheers and dances. Practices take place on Wednesdays at the Los Alamitos Community Center and games on Saturdays (times vary). Teams will be split based on number of participants. Pompons, cheer uniform, bow, and award are included in the fee.
Sports & Rec
Looking for an alternative to keep your kids active? This after school program provides kids an opportunity to participate in a variety of sports and recreational activities. Recreation Staff will teach basic fundamental skills of each sport and/or activity at the beginning of each session and then allow participants play and experience the sport/activity for themselves.
Coed Youth Track & Field
Expose your child to the different events in track and field and basic cross country techniques! Recreation Staff will teach basic techniques and rules for events such as the 50 meter sprint, 100 meter dash, and long jump. Athletes will have the opportunity to practice their skills each week in preparation for the track meet at the end of the program. Stretching and "fun-ditioning" will be emphasized. Singlet and award are included in the fee.
Coed Youth Volleyball League
Learn the skills and techniques of volleyball or sharpen your skills in the 10-week Coed Youth Volleyball League. Practices are held once a week at Los Alamitos school district sites. The first two weeks are dedicated to practice with the games scheduled the third week. Games will take place at Oak Middle School Gymnasium on Friday nights. The season will conclude with a skills contest and an awards ceremony. Sites with multiple teams will be determined based on talent level. No roster/carpool requests will be granted. Uniform and award are included in the fee.
